Modern School, Nagpur conducted Swachhata Pakhwada week from 01/09/2017 to 15/09/2017 with a spate of activities in accordance to the nationwide Swachha Bharat Abhiyaan launched by our Prime Minister on 2nd October 2014.
The school organized a wide range of event. The main objective of this programme was to create awareness among the students regarding cleanliness and it benefits.
The programme began with the students taking pledge on Swachhata on 01-09-2017. On 04/09/2017 Slogan writing competition was arranged for the students. Colourful slogans were designed by the students. On Teacher’s Day on 05/09/2017, students participated in the cleanliness drive in the school along with teachers. They cleaned their classrooms and the surrounding corridors. Old files, broken furnitures, and unusable equipments were discarded from various departments.
On 6th & 7th September Essay Writing Competition was conducted in Hindi and English respectively. The students participated enthusiastically. Members of the SMC / PTA along with parents and their wards actively participated in the Painting Competition which was held on 09/09/2017. Teachers also willingly took part in the competition.
An inter-house debate competition was conducted on 11/09/2017. The topic of the debate was “Should cleanliness be given priority along with the development of nation”. Cadets of NCC & RSP cleaned the neighbourhood areas of the school on 12/09/2017 under ‘Clean-City Green-City’ drive.
A big rally of tiny tots of std. I to III was taken out in the nearby surrounding areas of the school with students carrying placards and banners advocating the principles of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. Residents along the rally route came out in support of the students and cheered them.
The students were awarded with prizes and certificates for their outstanding performances in the above different activities during the pakhwada.
To fulfill the vision of Mahatma Gandhi and make India an ideal country all over the world, the students of Modern School, Nagpur have pledged to be a part of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan Campaign.
All the above programmes were conducted under the able-guidance of our Director Mrs. Neeru Kapai and Principal Mrs. Anuradha Sardeshpande, Vice-principal Ms Rupali Dey and Co-ordinators Mr. Vinod Bhagwatwar, Mr. B. K. Mishra and Ms Asha Deshraj.
