MODERN SCHOOL CELEBRATES THE SANSKRIT WEEK

The celebration of Sanskrit Week took place in Modern School from 21.7.17 to 28.7.17. The first day was marked by the singing of a Sanskrit prayer by the school choir followed by an introduction of the upcoming events by Mrs. Jayashree Borkute Subject In-charge of the Sanskrit department.A speech stressing upon the importance of Sanskrit was delivered by Nidhi Naidu . Throughout the week,everyday a Sanskrit thought was being written in the classes right from Standard I to X.Furthermore, the school prayer was followed by a Sanskrit thought. The rendition of Vande Matram in Sanskrit by the school students,Ganesh Vandana sung by Niraga Kulkarni of Standard IX, Sanskrit Caligraphy  Competition for the students of Standard VII, Newsreading in Sanskrit by Lavanya Suryavanshi of Standard X, students taking pledge in Sanskrit, followed by cultural events and competitions were some of  the main highlights of the Sanskrit week . The week- long celebration reached its culmination on 28.7.17 with the declaration of the results of the Sanskrit singing competition. The programme was hosted by Mrs. Sukhada Kulkarni and the vote of thanks was proposed by Mrs. Bagyashree of Sanskrit Department.
